Southwest Williamson County Regional Park

Williamson County Regional Park is an 800-acre recreational park that offers playscapes, tennis courts, a football field with 400 meters of track, and eleven soccer fields. It also hosts the Cedar Rock Railroad, a miniature train that children love to ride. Read on for some ideas.

The Quarry Splash Pad is a great way for kids to cool off during summertime. It is set in an actual quarry and features water jets all around the park.

1. Quarry Splash Pad

If you want to beat the triple-digit Texas summer heat, visit the Quarry Splash Pad at Williamson County Regional Park. This water park, surrounded by rock features, is fun for both toddlers and big kids. The water park features sprinklers, fountains, a waterfall, and a slide. There are also sand pits and picnic tables.

Admission to the splash pad is $2 per person for infants through adults. There is a cash-only automated pay station onsite and an attendant during water play hours.

The Quarry Splash Pad is part of an 800-acre park that offers 11 soccer fields, two softball fields, eight tennis courts, six basketball courts, and a playscape. There is also a crushed granite hike and bike trail. You can also take a ride on the Cedar Rock Railroad miniature train or go swimming at Twin Lakes Park. There are also pavilions for rent, including the popular Pebble and Boulder Pavilions. The 7.5-acre Duck Pond Park is also open this summer, offering swimming and fishing opportunities.

2. Sports Fields

This is an enormous park with areas for soccer, basketball, baseball, football, track, and tennis. There’s even a swimming pool, water playscape, and miniature train ride! There are also a couple of trails for hiking or running and an excellent disc golf course that goes on for miles and is surrounded by trees.

The Quarry Splash Pad is a unique water park set in an actual rock quarry with jets of water, waterfalls, and sprinklers. It’s Live Grow Play approved and it’ll keep the kids cool and awed!

The sports fields here are huge and offer plenty of space to practice or host a game. They have 11 soccer fields, two softball fields, a football field circled by a track, six tennis courts, and eight basketball courts. There are also several pavilions for picnicking. 3. Cedar Rock Railroad

Located close to the Quarry Splash Pad, Cedar Rock Railroad is a quarter-scale train that takes passengers on a 1.4-mile ride through the park. Owner Ken Knowles loves trains and making people smile. This 800-acre recreational facility is also home to a basketball court, tennis courts, six-disc golf courses, 11 soccer fields, a football field circled by 400 meters of track, and crushed granite hike and bike trails. There is even a picnic shelter, playground, and splash pad.

If you want to cool off, try the Quarry Splash Pad, an impressive fountain with waterfalls and sprinklers. You can also visit the nearby Heritage Oak Park and see the area’s beloved 400-year-old oak tree, which is lit up with thousands of lights for the holiday season in December. There are also a number of other attractions within the city, such as horseback riding lessons, camps, and birthday parties at Cornerstone Farm, equine-assisted therapy at South Wind Equestrian Center, and private horse boarding at Brushy Creek Lake Park.

4. Sculpture Garden

The Sculpture Garden at the park is a unique blend of art and nature. The 12 art installations are rotated yearly so visitors always have something new to see. The park also features a crushed granite hiking and biking trail and the Cedar Rock Railroad miniature train.
